I wanted to take a moment to tell you about a student of mine. They call her the ESKRIMADORA. Her name is Mariah Moore. She started with my school when she was 8. She is now 15 and has exceeded beyond my expectations. I am truly proud to tell you about her. She has 4 gold medals for the United States Women's National Team in weaponry and full contact stick fighting. Below is a link to her blog. Please check it out. She recently went down to my hometown and tested for her black belt. She amazes me with every detail she puts into her karate and her strength and love. I am proud to say that she earned her black belt and I am truly proud of her. She also traveled (March 2009) to try out for America's Got Talent in Chicago but did not make it to the next round. She will take the winning crown next year!! We have high hopes for her future and bright success.
